What is QTYPE HLA Typing?

For samples that need to be processed fast, QTYPE offers rapid and accurate real-time PCR-based HLA typing for 11 loci with a low-to-intermediate and single-antigen bead resolution.

Benefits
  • Rapid: RT-PCR HLA typing in less than 1 hour with <10 mins of hands-on time
  • High robustness: Each allele covered by multiple unique reactions
  • Streamlined: Single-step workflow and automated data analysis
  • Single test for 11 loci: HLA-A, B, C, DRB1, DRB3,4,5, DQA1, DQB1, DPA1, DPB1
  • Enhanced resolution: Single antigen bead (SAB) resolution and expandable primer/probe design
  • Covers all alleles from the database used in design
  • Direct to high resolution for DPB1 CWDs

A Complete Workflow that Offers Speed and Precision in Real Time

Simple and Rapid Workflow: HLA Typing Within an Hour

QTYPE plates can be set up in batches and stored in the dark at +4°C to +8°C for up to 8 hours before performing the real-time PCR run.

QTYPE Kit Overview

  • 384-well plate with pre-dispensed, dried reaction mixes
  • Each well contains at least one HLA reaction and an internal amplification control reaction
  • Each reaction consists of at least two SSP primers and a TaqMan probe
  • Ready to use, single run aliquot of master mix complete with Taq polymerase, dNTPs and buffer
  • Optically clear sealing sheets

How does QTYPE HLA Typing Work?

QTYPE is a rapid RT-PCR HLA typing solution, designed to provide results within one hour. Kits include a DNA well plate pre-aliquoted with dried primers and probes that are designed to bind with select alleles.

  • QTYPE utilizes primer and probe combinations to enhance resolution
  • Specificity provided by primers and sequence-specific TaqMan probes (i.e. dual control of specificity)
  • No need for additional verification steps (e.g. melt curve analysis)
Sequence-specific QTYPE primers and a hydrolysis probe bind to a target DNA sequence.

Flexible multiplexing for increased resolution

  • Future-proof design: significant capacity to add new reactions and increase resolution due to probe-based technology
  • Two channels are used for HLA-specific reactions-class I/II, one channel for an internal amplification control and one channel for reference dye
  • Reaction is monitored in real time, which allows for increased resolution
